Gold Coast Hinterland ‘floating home’ is Qld’s hottest new build

159 Nathanvale Dr, Mount Nathan

A contemporary Gold Coast Hinterland acreage property that appears to float over the bush is Queensland’s hottest home of the week.

The striking new build at 159 Nathanvale Dr, Mount Nathan notched up the most views of any residential property listed for sale on www.realestate.com.au over the last seven days.

But while the estate is set over more than 30 acres of rural land, there’s nothing country about the sophisticated styling of this luxury abode.

Known as the Allawah Estate, the home is marketed by Talei Kelly and David Manby, of LJ Hooker Property Hub, and goes under the hammer on Sunday.

The two-storey home was an owner-builder project by DC House, and has four bedrooms and a home office or media room, three bathrooms plus powder room, and a triple garage with polished concrete floors.

Ms Kelly said interest from interstate buyers had been strong.

“I’ve even had executives from the ACT looking at the property with a view to putting a helipad on the block so they can fly in, fly out,” Ms Kelly said.

“I’ve also had many inquiries from buyers in Brisbane seeking an executive-level escape with the option to work part time on the Gold Coast in peace and privacy, but still only minutes away from all of the Gold Coast’s amenities.”

Standout features include a luxurious kitchen with two dishwashers, integrated fridges, and a butler’s pantry with a wine fridge, as well as a plush home cinema with Yamaha sound system.

Outdoors is given over to al fresco entertaining among serene bush surrounds, with a well-equipped barbecue kitchen and magnesium pool surounded by frameless glass fencing.

Ms Kelly said the property was an example of effective passive house design, utilising ceiling heights of 3.6m with large bi-fold windows and louvres to promote natural ventilation.

“The inspiration came from creating a cutting-edge look and making the design appear to have a floating look over the landscape,” she said.

The ‘floating’ effect is achieved by cantilevered decks beneath spotted gum eaves, illuminated by bespoke strip lighting.

Sleek design extends to the bathrooms

Back inside, thoughtful design finishes through open-plan living spaces strike a balance between family comfort and aesthetics.

Finishes in the living and dining space include herringbone oak flooring, Victorian ash screening, Brazilian stone, and custom timber cabinetry.

The property, located just 10 minutes to Nerang and the M1 Motorway, is connected to town water as well as being fitted with a 5000L catchment tank and pump.

PropTrack data shows house prices in Mount Nathan were up 45 per cent over the last 12 months, to a median of $1.392m.
