A FULLY rendered house that sold to a Maserati-driving Melbourne buyer has been crowned the Gold Coast’s most viewed home of 2022.
According to PropTrack data, a house named Ruin X at 31 Beaconsfield Drive, Burleigh Waters racked up 68,000 views on realestate.com.au.
That interest translated to an action-packed auction on-site in March.

New Jewel apartments on the market
Melbourne buyer Chris Shao walked away victorious after he paid $2.713888 million to secure the home after seeing it on social media.
Matt Jamieson and Emma Sweeny were the brains behind the one-of-a-kind rendered house full of arches and curves.
“We wanted to create a home that had wow factor, a first-of-its-kind, you felt comfortable and welcomed as soon as you walked in, an entertainer’s dream, minimal (and) an incredible layout,” Ms Sweeny said at the time.
From the street the house made a statement with canary palms, rooftop plants and a cobblestone driveway.
Inside and snake door handles, a 1.5m Timothy Oulton chandelier in the living area, wall niches and built-in rendered bed only add to the ‘ruin’ vibe throughout.
A sprawling Tallebudgera property came in second most viewed on the Gold Coast with 65,000 views.
The new build known as Kooringal Lodge sold in a deal worth $5.995 million in November.
The property, which combines alpine cabin architecture and mid-century modernism, was the work of Paul and Nicki Harms.
“We had the right block, an amazing designer on board, and Nicki did all the interiors,” Mr Harms said.
“It’s really a team effort from having the right block to your team and all of your consultants.”
Rounding out the top three was a notorious Tallebudgera mansion owned by a controversial billionaire developer which racked up 57,000 views.
The extravagant acreage property known Bellagio La Villa has been on and off the market and is currently listed for sale at $33 million.
The estate is owned by Chinese billionaire Riyu Li who spearheaded the three-tower Jewel project at Surfers Paradise.
The palatial home for sale includes ten spacious bedrooms with lavish ensuites, multiple living areas with ornate decorative finishes, a library and music room. There’s a heated indoor pool with spa and sauna as well as a gym, and showroom-style five-car garage which can be converted to a ballroom.
A former prize home, also at Tallebugera came in fourth with 54,000 clicks and a sprawling riverfront property in Carrara was fifth with 48,000 views.
