The house was also used to host events for actor Tom Hanks when he stayed on the Gold Coast earlier this year, while filming the Elvis biopic.

Amber Heard used the property as a base during her seven-month stint filming Aquaman on the Gold Coast in 2017.

Heard, who stars as Queen Mera in the film, posted several pictures of herself and her friends partying at the property during her stay.

It’s understood Elon Musk stayed at the property.

Luxury Gold Coast waterfront could be yours for $2

A New York Post story even showed Amber Heard kissing an unknown man in the pool at the house.

On the market for the first time in 17 years, 3 Kootingal St will be auctioned on January 20.

“It is a perfect property for those needing absolute privacy but still requiring the convenience of a central location and access to the waterfront,” said Kollosche managing director Michael Kollosche, who is marketing the property alongside colleague Harry Kakavas.

The Ashmore pad is on an acreage block.

“Ashmore offers larger blocks and family homes, while remaining only 15 minutes from Surfers Paradise.

“The uniqueness of this home and the level to which it has been maintained over the years make it an exceptional offering for owner-occupiers or someone seeking to continue to capitalise on the potential rental opportunities.”

No expense was spared in the build of the sprawling property.

The property, on a 5,625sq m block, includes a luxurious five-bedroom, double-storey house and two-bedroom guesthouse packed with character features such as 180-year-old recycled timber floors and cathedral ceilings.

Drawing on influences from post-war 1950s Australia, New Zealand’s charming Arrowtown and the grandeur of Cape Cod, the home is a product of talented craftsmen who were given creative licence and an open budget.

Featuring a range of natural repurposed materials, the home has 788 sqm of floorboards and exposed wooden beams.

Natural stone, terracotta and rendered brickwork also feature heavily throughout.

Those who stay will want for nothing as the home has multiple living spaces, an open plan kitchen and dining room, five spacious bedrooms including a lavish master suite, library, subterranean cellar, study, and 25m lap pool.

A four-car garage has space for cars and boats, while a “ski hut” beside the river stores water sports equipment.

The home is styled to perfection.

Separate from the main house is a poolside “fun house” with a large bar, pool table and lounge area, with the adjacent deck, lush lawns, or fire pit beside the river ideal hubs for alfresco entertaining.

The current owner, Paul Lathouras, bought the estate in October, 2005, property records reveal.

A perfect hideaway and an entertainer’s dream.
